Anonymous asked: what's the story behind the name "crab the dog designs"?

Crab is the name of the dog in the play Two Gentlemen of Verona. My dog played Crab in a production. Whenever we told anyone he was in the show we tended to say, “he’s playing Crab, the dog,” as though people would somehow think he was playing a human role. I know, it’s an odd inside joke. I had no idea what to name my etsy when I started it on a whim and so thought of what I love, and Weatherly is what came to mind (he’s the dog in the picture in the banner). 

If you haven’t read Two Gentlemen of Verona, I highly recommend reading the monologues by the character Launce who is Crab’s owner. I find them hilarious. Launce does everything for Crab and is resentful that Crab doesn’t show his gratitude or behave himself. Which I think many of us experience with our pets—that loving exasperation.
